Not everyone is rehearsed in the correct order of makeup application, which is actually quite important if you want that flawless look and want a longer staying power of your makeup. Most professional makeup artists will apply makeup in a certain order in order to ensure that makeup goes on correctly and is applied in a manner where it has time to set and look perfect. The first part of makeup application is to even out overall skin tone and create a smooth and even surface, while the second part is to accentuate features. First, primer goes on. Next, concealer is applied in order to cover flaws and discolorations. Then comes foundation, followed by loose powder in order to keep your makeup in place.

Next up in the correct order of makeup application is blush and bronzer, which are used to contour and define the cheeks and eyes. This is where highlighter and eyeshadow also come into play in order to create more definition, then lips come next, followed by mascara, which should wait until the very end in order to prevent smudging. By following this sequence, not only will makeup application be easier but it will also stay longer and look flawless.
